Can the Bible be trusted to guide me?

Question- I am not sure the Bible can be trusted to guide me.  Why should I accept the Bible?

Answer- 2 Timothy 2:16-17 says that “all scripture is inspired of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness, so the man of God can be perfect and furnished completely unto every good work. “In the absence of any other standard that can be trusted, the Bible is the most provable source of authority.  Notice what the Bible says:

It contains: serious warnings 2 Tim. 4:2- it teaches that man’s doctrines are vain- Matt. 15:7-9-We cannot add to it or take away from it- Rev. 22:18-19- if anyone preaches another gospel he is accursed- Gal. 1:7-9- we are to believe no other gospel- Mark 7:7-9- the word of God is the standard we will be judged on- Jn. 12:48.

The bible is indestructible- - Matt. 24:25- Incorruptible-1 Peter 1:23- Indispensable- Matt. 4:4- Infallible- Matt. 5:18- Inexhaustible- Psalm 92:5.

God’s inspired word will: Convince us of sin- Convert our soul-Cleanse our walk- Counsel our life- Confirm our faith- Comfort our faith- Comfort our heart- Never pass away (Matt. 24:15; 1 Peter 1:25).

When people are looking to have a standard, they have to go to where the most reliable proof is.  For example, if a person wants to find oil, they go to an area of soil that is most likely to have oil in it.  If a person wants to drill a water well, they drill in the most likely place they can in order to find water.  So in like manner, if a person wants to find reliable guidance for their life, they investigate the most likely place to find the answers for how to please God.  The Bible is our roadmap to heaven.  If we will only follow the directions, it will lead us to heaven.  God loves us and has provided this infallible message for us to follow.
